Uluwatu

Day 46

In the morning we had to paddle to breakfast, it had rained that much the walkway was flooded to the breakfast area.  After a quick noodle breakfast we were off shopping to a locals  shopping market. It was all fixed price so no bartering required.  This place was dirt cheap, 70p a t-shirt, 40p shorts 30p flipflops.  It had tons of stuff, I had to keep one eye on Claire to make sure she did not go crazy, much to her annoyance.

For the evening we had private hired a cab for 6 hours. It would take us anywhere we want and wait for us,this cost us £15.00.  A small price to pay in my opinion, we could have ired motorbikes for £1.00 a day but we would definitely have scared ourselves to death.



We headed to Uluwatu, which is a famous temple in the south of the island.  It is one of the main tourist attractions in Bali.

You had to watch for these guys, hats, sunglasses, wallets cameras they would swipe them in a heartbeat. The sneak up on you, one got to within 5 inch of my bag, only knew it was there when someone shouted a warning. 

However the main entertainment was watching the Kecak sunset dance! This is a ritual dance that consists of 70 men and 3 women singing and dancing.  The show lasted over 1 hour and had a variety of colourful charachters. 

After thoroughly enjoying the show we had arranged for our driver to take us to a specialist fish restaurant. We had meal on the beach front, after picking out the fish we had wanted to eat and then having them weighed.  Yum Yum
