Day 72

New Years Eve

Another boat  trip today, this time to Anthong Marine Park.  We decided to take a spaeedboat tour,slightly more expensive but it meant we would get more time exploring.  Let me tell you this boat could really move.  At one point it started to rain and the spray was that bad the driver put on a crash helmet. It looked quite comical and worrying at th same time.

First stop was a place used in ' The Beach' film.  Here we got a chance to explore and do a bit of kayaking.

Then onto a fishermans village, where we had food provided .  It was  not that great to be honest.

The next Island we talk a short climb/walk to a viewing platform where we could get a good panoramic picture of the area.  This was followed by a hour of snorkinling and swimming.

In the evening we headed to a local restaurant, where we befriended a Irish couple.  This was the start of a big drinking session for myself.

At about 11 we headed to the beach  for the midnight fireworks. They were some of the best fireworks I have ever seen, especially as we were so close to them.  All in all a great new years eve.
