Los Angeles

Day 18

Hollywood and Muscle Beach.

First on the agenda was the legendary Hollywood walk of fame.   Now lets just say, Hollywood as a place is nowhere near as nice as you think it is!  Trust me it is not, I thought it would be all mansions and posh houses. Well Beverly Hills might be but , Hollywood is not all that nice to be honest.

Anyway the walk of fame

Apparently it costs each star 30 grand to have a star on the walk of fame.  I asked about a Julia Roberts one, however she was too tight to pay for it.  However if you are super cool you get invited to have your hand and footprint to be cast in concrete outside the Chinese theatre.  This is free, although you have to be mega famous.. Julia Roberts was asked to come down and have her hand print  done.  Apparently she is not a nice person and she upset some of the staff at the theatre and her offer was retracted!!!

Chinese Theatre

Me putting my hand in Arnold schwarzenegger, good prep for muscle beach.

You also have lookalikes down the walk of fame.

Alan from Hangover

Johnny Depp Claires favourite.

Claire at Johnny Depps hand prints.

Marilyn Munroes, Gentlemen prefer blondes!

After completing the walk we headed to Santa Monica Beach and the famous pier they have there. To be honest it did remind me of something you would find in Blackpool, well a little better.

After visiting the pier, we headed to Venice Beach, also better known as muscle beach!  This place was ace and by far the best we had visited in LA.  There were loads of chin up bars, really high ropes to climb, parallel bars, gymnast area and my personal favourite the rings!  This essentially was a a long line of rings that you had to swing between, it was great fun even though I was no good at it.  Everyone down the beach was really friendly, just a great  place to hangout.  Yeah there were a couple of posers, but all still good fun.

The rings and how it should be done!

Me showing them how its done on muscle beach!
